Increase your Front-end Development Capacity with VP’s UX-Flex Program

Velocity Partners offers a cost-effective way to increase your front-end development capacity and speed time-to-launch without foregoing any quality by taking advantage of our UX-Flex program.  Designed to allow you to better balance multiple projects and manage variable workloads, it is the perfect solution for developing the user experience for online business systems, creating a client’s website, or standing up web portal properties.

The program provides you with a highly collaborative environment including a project manager and development team that is ready to assist you with ongoing challenges and to help you manage spikes with your front-end development load.  They also bring a range of technical expertise including HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Adobe Photoshop slicing along with account management for oversight, coordination and risk mitigation.

Getting the support of our UX-Flex program lets you scale up or down according to your needs and we can provide services on a full-time or part-time basis.  Another benefit to the VP program is our software development services are nearshore not offshore.  Since our Latin American delivery centers are in a compatible time zone as our U.S. customers, it facilitates real-time communication during prime business hours.  Furthermore, our teams have excellent English language skills and our employee tenure is above industry average so you will have the opportunity to build relationships with your team.

Please visit our website for more information regarding Velocity Partners’ UX-Flex program and all of our other software development services.   We are proud to be able to provide our clients with such high quality services in the most cost-effective manner.

Agile Gives Us the Ability to Create and Respond to Change

Sometimes a client asks us why we use a distributed Agile model for our software development services.  Our answer is simple.  Distributed Agile gives us the tools we need to be able to offer our clients software development that is expertly planned and accurately delivered – all at an optimal business value.

The distributed Agile process starts by consulting with the product owner (the client) as the team assigned to the project begins dividing up the work into functional increments.  These increments are known as “user stories” and each one helps to create a simplified description of a requirement which will contribute to the overall product.  Your team will consist of a small group of individuals who are committed to the project from start to finish.

Another important component that makes distributed Agile methodologies in software development so successful is the “daily standup” or meeting.   Typically done at a set time each day, it brings everyone up to date allowing the team to share completed tasks and describe any obstacles that are impeding progress.

Iterative development is also a key practice in the Agile process.  This is the step that breaks down software development into smaller units with code designed and developed to be revisited and tested in repeated cycles.  Incremental development ensures that “each successive version of the product is usable, and each builds upon the previous version by adding user-visible functionality.”  Once a product is finished or at a certain designated point in a project, the entire team will spend time evaluating and analyzing key events.

At Velocity Partners our team includes experienced engineers and consultants as well as leaders in Agile software development.  We have been successfully using distributed Agile methodologies since our firm began in 2004 and offer companies an excellent ROI.

VP’s Employees Give Back to their Communities

After careful analysis and deliberation, Velocity Partners chose a nearshore delivery model when we began offering this service in 2007. We selected Latin America for several reasons including the convenience of being in the same time zone as our North America clients; their advanced technology centers; and a large pool of talented software engineers.  Furthermore, it allows us to provide clients with topnotch, cost-effective services.

While VP has been very successful over the years and our operations have grown, we recognize the importance of improving the life in the communities where we are based.  Much of this type of activity is done through our Community Involvement Program, which is driven by Velocity Partners’ employees throughout the company.

Our recently released report on the firm’s Community Involvement activities in 2016 details projects proposed and implemented by employees and supported by their colleagues in our USA, Caracas, Medellín, Montevideo, Rosario, Buenos Aires and Paraná offices.  As our report shows these endeavors were very positive and projects range from donating software development expertise, to helping the disadvantaged with goods and services, to participating in manual labor.
One project in Medellín, Colombia involved a group of VP employees who collaborated with the organization Techo in order to construct a home for a family living in poverty in a rural area outside the city.  The full day’s labor taught the group a lot, both about home construction as well as the power of what can be accomplished by working together.

Our Rosario, Argentina office undertook a project to build up the computer rooms in several of the area’s community centers in an effort to reduce the technology gap in that particular area of the city.  The team used their specific technical knowledge to help guide the modifications that needed to be done to enhance usability.  Computers and mice were donated and a computer workshop was offered to the community.

Please visit Velocity Partners’ website to read the full Community Involvement report.  We think it says a lot about the type of people that work for us and their overall commitment to making the world a better place.

VP Clients Visit our Latin American Delivery Centers

Ever since we opened our doors, Velocity Partners has invited clients to visit our Latin America delivery centers to experience firsthand our professional operations as well as to strengthen connections with their team.  In fact time and time again, we have seen numerous ways that face to face interactions positively impact client/VP relationships.

For example just last month, we had the new management team from Polycom, a leader in HD video conferencing, voice conferencing & telepresence, visit our offices in Montevideo, Uruguay.  The trip was a way to not only express appreciation to their team but to get to know them better.  It also presented the opportunity to start planning for future projects.

After several meetings, the team decided on the most effective work methods, the Agile processes to implement, and began Sprint 1 after determining to move ahead with Scrum.  The Polycom group left a week later, confident with their team and a promise to return.

In April we were pleased to welcome the Kinnser team to our Rosario, Argentina office.  Kinnser’s software, which is as easy to use as it was powerful, is the most widely used software in home health care. The Director of DevOps, Brian Berger said of the visit, “I want to thank Velocity’s Kinnser teams, and Velocity’s Rosario office for the hospitality and initiative shown during our recent visit. I appreciated the opportunity to share challenges and successes directly with Kinnser’s teams and with other Velocity teams to better understand how we can partner to quickly build superior products with a higher degree of customer and employee satisfaction.”  He added that he looks forward to building upon the partnership.

We invite all of our clients to visit our Latin American offices to forge stronger relationships with their teams as well as to see our operations up close.  Keep in mind that we build each team to specifications, including technical expertise and business domain.
